At Wavemaps we're building the future of wave forecasting
We are a tech startup that produces advanced ocean wave models and visualization interfaces. We do this by combining high-performance computing, custom algorithms and models, artificial intelligence, ocean data mining, and decades of experience in surfing, oceanography, ocean engineering, and nearshore hydrodynamics.
We produce and deliver ocean intelligence
Global forecasts
Our global forecasts use the best available wave and weather models to provide up to 16 day forecasts with 100% global coverage.
Nearshore dashboards
Our nearshore dashboards use hydrodynamic digital twin technology to recreate the worlds most important surf and extreme ocean sports zones. Each dashboard is carefully curated and calibrated by our technical team to include the best available bathymetry, topography, and wave and wind data streams.
WE RUN OUR OWN MODELS. Our proprietary code leverages state of the art wave models and uses AI-level supercomputers, GPUs and parallel computing and image processing techniques.
Best available wind models
Our nearshore models are driven with the best available high-resolution wind and weather models and are updated every 6 hours to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
Combining state of the art computing with our passion for the ocean
State of the art forecasts driven by state of the art software. Our advanced visualizations are possible only by using the best computing hardware and software. We are proud to be powered by:
